Six in total this year. Only one of them was in an urban area and involved a vehicle. One was a bunch wheel clipping (not me). The rest were either as a result of lack of concentration when exhausted at the end of a fast ride or gravel/pothole cornering. I'm getting safer thankfully.
Touché. We'll never work out what happened. I was descending in a straight line, the road was smooth...next thing I know I'm pretending to be superman.
EDIT: All but one crash was on my road bike. There is something to be said for the Pinarello FP2 frame being way to race oriented for me when I first bought it. It is twitchy as hell and I think it took me a few months to get used to controlling it accurately.
