Sorry Andy. I've consulted the internet and it's definitely CX.
Observed Trials is a close second but as you ride over the tiny obstacles it places higher. -
• #828
You're weird though. CX is the strangest of all cycling activities.
what about trials riding, or anything involving scoble?
-
• #829
Y'all haven't seen shit;

2-3 minutes over 25 miles is quite a lot though. Is that your point?
It's not really when the spread of times for these events is something like 30min and the finincial investment is into the thousands of £££. Who cares if a disc buys you 30s when there's people many minutes faster and you've not actually improved. That's my point.

I've ridden trials but not CX, therefore CX is weirder.

You commute through London - isn't that technically CX by it's definition?
-
• #833
No.

I never jump off my bike to run through a muddy bog stacked with planks of wood.. so.. no.
-
• #835
No dead turns either?
-
• #836
this thread keeps getting better... If you guys put this much effort into proper racing, instead of aimless dick swinging, you'd probably all be Cat 2's by now!

Says the experienced racing cyclist.
Ha!

• #838
No dead turns either?
Only when I see money on the road. :)
-
• #839
my effort has been one attempt at 3 laps of the park
also i really don't want to race - too much risk involved (ego, damage to self or bike)

Bollocks. Wheres the harm in having a good natured challenge with mates? The vast majority of the people on this thread have no interest in racing. Its not obligatory to get a race license and wear lycra if you have an interest in beating times over a course.
Besides, perhaps all of this aimless dick swinging is getting us faster and fit and one or two of use might decide to race in the future.
Elitist lycra clad roadie tossers who sneer at people riding their bikes and subsequently improving their fitness can >>>>>>> while we have a bit of fun.

This. I've been to a few cat 4 races and was stunned by the level of even more aimless dick swinging there. I shudder to think what it is like in the other cats.
This is why I'm happy just to continually try to get faster by challenging my mates instead.
