• MUS pmd me asking about my experience with the MW80s, thought I may as well copy my thoughts over here for anyone wondering.

ended up with the MW81 as they didn't have the MW80 in my size.

They are definitely very warm and waterproof. I found out this morning though, and what seems to be common criticism applied to all winter boots, is that when it's really wet water runs down your leg and down your ankle meaning your feet get wet anyway. I've read the solution to this is to get mini hiking gators, which I plan on doing. I don't see it as a failure of the product at all, just inevitable. I got the MW over the RW model as using them through winter I reckon a decent sole is worthwhile, don't fancy navigating slushy carparks and pavements in hard plastic soles!

They are very comfortable whilst being stiff enough. If i was rating them I'd give them 5/5.

The soles are just like any other mountain bike spd shoe, cleats are recessed and I find them comfortable to walk in. I would advise trying them on in person though, as I bought a size above my usual after trying 46 and 47 on (which is what the reviews I read suggested anyway.)
