• Asking a family having a kick around when they're going to finish because we want both courts for polo is a bit off IMO.

Are you talking about me on Monday night? I went up to him and said "How's it going? Absolutely no pressure at all mate, honestly. we were just wondering how long more you were staying. If you want to stay an hour or two its perfectly fine! We are just working out a schedule of our games for the rest of the evening whether we have one or two courts. If you are staying a while its ok, really".
And he said "No problem at all pal, I wanted to finish up anyway, its the kids that are keeping me here! But we are heading off in a minute, its getting late, they'll be tired. Thank you for asking."

I didnt order him off the court or the like. I was friendly and open with him, and made sure from the start that he was under no pressure to leave. He responded in kind, there was zero bad blood. If he'd said "we'll probably be here for another hour" then I would have said that's fine, no problem, thanks for letting us know, we appreciate it. Same with the rollerblader who I talked to about half an hour beforehand.
