  • Barca won't get rid of Villa, he's having a slightly below par season thus far, and there are rumblings about him being unhappy with Messi, but probably just a bit of handbags. His value to Barca is that he gives them back some of what E'too gave them, someone to run, and harry, and be the point man when a more orthodox center forward is required but who can also drop deeper, or play as the wide man in a front three.

    Barca need more options, not less, and Pedro can't be played as an out and out striker, in that, though the front three are interchangeable, he's more of a winger who can strike, than a striker who can wing, if you see what I'm getting at. And sanchez hasn't shown much form so far this season to warrant displacing Villa, who will run hard every game, can score tap in's and the spectacular, and can hold up the ball and play the tiki-taka thing as well as any graduate from La Masia..
