This guy here might actually be quite a genius. By locking his bicycle in such a manner of absurdity he may be deterring thieves by humouring them instead, encouraging them to leave the bicycle so that others can take pleasure in the viewing the owner's "supposed" incapability with intelligence. Very clever sir...
I think this one wins, it was left over night at the waterloo bike stand...
I love the idea that some thief id going to come along cut the brake cables and then damage themselves severely failing to stop. Shame thats probably not the intention though

This page is nuts.
People appear getting worse at locking their bikes. -

is it possible the scarf in the one ^^^ up there is wrapped around a chain or something, to stop it scratching the bike? if not, i don't understand how the owner of that bike can possibly be intelligent enough to live in a complex modern society - how can they work or fill out forms etc if they think a scarf is an adequate bicycle lock??? gosh

Saw a great one the other night but it was too dark to get a good photo. The person had 3 cable locks mounted on their bike but none actually attached to anything.
But they had a BIG old fashioned treasure chest style padlock locking bike chain (the drive chain) to the stand.
Was new bike too.
blown away

These crack me up, could never work out how these clowns manage to lock their bikes so badly. Then last night at the gym I very nearly left my bike having locked it securely to nothing but air....
Oh dear.

My favourite; New York mini, Normal New York and the big f*** off New York chain. Yes it makes me look like a Kryptonite salesman however it stops my bike becoming a thieving little oiks toy until he can get £30 for it.

That's definitely a wooly lock warmer. Known in hipster circles as a KryptoSnood.
A warm lock is 20% more resistant to bastards than a cold lock.

Found this in Wandsworth Bridge Road. Not entirely sure how or why they did it, but they've padlocked the chain.

Went to the gym earlier, locked my bike on the other side of a sheffield stand to a pretty nondescript hybrid.
Came out of the gym, this was all that was left of the hybrid
A bit of chopped liquorice

Just off Washington Square, NYC - student area and theft hotspot. Textbook. Was there for at least an hour, begging to be taken.

Absolute gem. Just saw this tonight under Tower Bridge, near the engine rooms.
2 locks, both useless however as the chain between the pillars is on a quick release clip.
Even if it wasn't, still useless. definitely an F.
