I'm in, wasn't sure since there are so many people already but there was that empty spot on the list there... and I've got Japanese in my username and everything

  • you literally just pry them apart and put the wheel in. It will naturally sit in the middle.

  • I, for instance, just bent the rear triangles until the axle/hub/wheel fitted inbetween the dropouts. 1 cm job, 5mm from each side, just used my hands. still rides like a charm.

    edit: ^what ppl above say.

  • My friend did it on his conversion. Shall all 40 of us come round prior to the ride, 20 on each side and pry them open?

this sounds like a solid system. im fine with just jamming it in but then when it comes to having to take the wheel out when i get a flat, it aint gonna come out. i reckon il try and properly cold-set it so that im actually able to get the wheel in and out easily. cheers for your advice guys, il put meself back on the list.

  • Joe, I can give you a hand if you like. Pretty sure I'm not so far away. Have previous in manouvering stubborn rear ends...

I am serious, can come round after work tomorrow.

Excellent, you get to sit at top table with me, Sumo and Roboto.

  • Depending on what time I finish playing golf and if I don't go to Brighton to see Rodigan, I will try to roll over to the last destination, as this sounds fun.

Joe I think it is just probably a little stiff, loads of polo bikes have all sorts of axle lengths boshed in on them and punctures are common place there. Of you're really worried, would it not be easier to put a new axle in the wheel?

edit. Ok. no worries man, but if you do need a hand/fancy a ride I am out west. #secretlyplanstostealBridgestone...
