This. Honestly, wtf were they thinking? The wear pattern on my brake pads makes them look like lego bricks. Burton, you might also want to tighten your brake cables as well as changing the pads in the interim - if they're anything like mine then they'll be nearing the end of their travel out of the shop. It makes a slight but perceptible difference.
The main thing is to change the wheelset, though.
Yes there does appear to alot of throw before any action on the brakes, will change this when I get home.
maybe not a waste.
your bike so do with it what you want but a tiagra front caliper would be ample and a good starting point.
start there and work up.
replace bits with better bits when they wear out.
Thanks for what I should be looking at, did some searching and found some people have changed to Mavic SSC and SRAM Rival calipers.
This. When I changed the shit Specialized calliper for a second hand £10 Sora I noticed a world of difference. Varno does good wheels for a decent price (use the search), change the shit mondo tyres unless you like punctures, pretty much everything else is decent kit and do what Skive says and replace as it wears out.
The seat Clamp looks abit weak to me, but then if it does what it needs to.
The wheelset is very heavy, and really doesn't show how light the Langster is.
A good open pro/ambrosio hubs wheel make a world of a difference, cheapest set you can get is from Dave Hinde.
Yes I have heard the frame is light, just looked on their website thanks for the heads up on that.
