  • AHAHHAHAAH in my mind, that was no one but Rupert. But now i see, it is indeed Bill.

Have fun over there.. Enjoy the large island iceteas.

  • I've been getting snoops and bill mixed up the whole time. I'd never mix a seal up with a bitter midget however.

  • But would you be able to tell the difference between a Nigerian and a team-mate?

  • I barfed in the pool

  • ^ Boring! This rivalry is so league 3.

    I barfed in the pool

What happened, B? You drink the water?

  • yep. the pool water. argh. :(

  • How are the polo tans?

  • Don't know about the tans, but my belly has only just recovered!

  • My belly has taken a turn for the worse, I think Adam infected me...

  • This thread has made for some beautiful reading.

If it's what we had, take some Immodium, and wait it out!

  • Yeh, let's get it back on track. Rupert; trousers. Marc; shorts.

Snoops wishes he had an arse as nice as mine.

  • I have put some pics on Panoramio, which shows where we were, and where the polo place was in relation to the city of Kaduna.

That was one of the wierdest trips I have taken for a long time. Met & accompanied almost everywhere by an armed policeman. Playing right-handed with hand-made Argentinian bike polo mallets (bamboo, varnished). Playing on grass, in 30 degree heat, with unfamiliar rules, with horses wandering on to 'our' pitch when we were playing.

Being made super-welcome by absolutely everyone we met, from the poorest kid to the richest man (the owner of Fifth Chukker, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adamu_Atta, was probably the friendliest & most welcoming of all). At times, I felt we were like the performing clowns, and at other times, it seemed that everyone, including the professional Argentinian polo players, wanted to have a scratch game with us.

  • Is it worth pointing out that the original picture is actually of a militiaman in the Congo, which is a long, long way from Nigeria?

  • Didn't you know, bill, that africa is all one country, so any mention of one place means you can make jokes about the rest of africa... And Indonesia for that matter.

  • Is it worth pointing out that the original picture is actually of a militiaman in the Congo, which is a long, long way from Nigeria?

    pedant.

It was in this thread, and he had a weapon in his mouth, which you also seem to enjoy. Sorry.

  • ah well. It's a shame not to have ethnic representation as well as a Nigerian playing polo living in London. My phone is always on, Facebook and email. Never even a mention apart from seeing Marcs status yesterday about flying to Nigeria. I'm being selfish tho obviously. At the very least a mention of this would've been nice.

Now i've done fuck all as far as work to lpc except play sometimes in London. I understand why others should go. I would've said this if Iasked. It's more the case of not being told, having it mentioned, being considered.

james, just to make this clear. This was 14bikeco trip not a lfgss.com trip. The players were picked by john from shop 14, with a recommendation of prav who he didnt know, (from me) because he is a mechanic and played grass polo at HH. That left 2 spaces, which i emailed a few lhbpa members about, the only reason jono started a thread was because yorgo had to drop out and it seemed the easiest way to get a player on board to take his spot. Several lhbpa members turned down the chance to come. You didnt need to be part of any clan, you just had to have a valid passport and turn up to polo where occasionally it was discussed. I heard from Mark that Cam was really envious, so when prav broke his collarbone he was asked if he was serious. Rupert saw the thread and went to the embassy to sort out his visa. End of story.

mine is still bad bill...i'm waiting!

  • mine is still bad bill...i'm waiting!

    Shit.

  • Can a dot go on the LoBP map then now?

  • Shit...

  • They didn't play hardcourt there.

  • The owner of the resort is keen on building a hardcourt. Snoops and Marc played 'dust' court if that counts?
