Why do people write "repped" when they rep someone? The person knows they've been repped, why do the rest of us need to know? Like buying a friend a drink in a pub and then going over to the next table and saying "I just bought my friend a drink". What is supposed to happen; they all clap you for your generosity or they all think, well, I'd better buy him one as well?
