they've got a dt swiss 585 build with those hubs on their site I'm interested in - I'm relatively heavy (86kg) - should I be looking elsewhere? Would I be better off getting a Miche primato build with those rims from Parker?
Sturdy deep rims and low spoke count = tough but fun training wheels. They look good value.
As SF says... comfort isn't an issue really for 20-40 mile rides (week night rides etc).
I use a pair of Aksiums for this. They keep coming back from the dead and do the job just fine.
My philosphy is, to to get where I'm going so fast, that I dont have time for discomfort. ;)
After 120 miles on a wet Sunday my arse disagrees. The rest of the time... I totally agree.
But as you start adding stuff to compensate for rim stiffness. You get to a point were you might as well get some aero for similar weight. Better bracing angles too.
Yep. Being lighter than average the configuration most OTP wheels mean I'm riding around with stiffer rims than needed. Shimano wheels (with the c24 rims) are the exception.
