"In August, 1984 Cardinal Ratzinger stated that liberation theology has a major flaw in that it attempts to apply Christ's teaching on the sermon on the mount regarding the poor to present social situations."

Cor, sharp as a razor.
Er,
looks like he's a Anglican. I'm no expert, I could be mistaken but St Paul's cathedral could be a bit of a clue?
I think the pope's a Catholic. Perhaps I'm wrong.
If so then that makes them a bit different no?Anyway, Decent bloke does a decent thing. Chapeau

If so then that makes them a bit different no?You missed the point - I'm guessing you're not familiar with liberation theology. You can easily draw parallels with the battle between liberation theology and the Catholic church's hierarchy and Fraser's support for the protesters versus the Anglican church's support for the 1%. Look at the makeup of St. Paul's Foundation and the corporate supporters, something I posted on here earlier.
Sharp as a razor, indeed.

I'm aware of it, and I agree that you could indeed draw that parallel. A good point.
If that was the point you were making with your post.
Hard to tell really as it was a quote from a wikipedia article and just putting it up could have been interpreted any old way.Hmmm

The vicar is clearly cut from the same cloth as a Catholic pope 'cause he's a vicar?Ratzinger's take on what liberation theology is trying to do surely chimes with the aims of #Occupy? Aims that Fraser supports with his sermons on corporate greed and the right to protest. I don't see how the wikipedia quote above comes remotely close to implying that Fraser and Ratzinger are alike: apply Christ's teaching on the sermon on the mount regarding the poor to present social situations

In light of the Kings Cross fatality, this is a similar story in New York. The actual website running this story looks interesting, so will post in the 'action group' thread too.
