I don't think Amygdala is doubting his fixed hill climbing prowess, I've seen it...
It would be good to see a route/gradient profile/have some idea of the percentages involved so that those of us who can reasonably comfortably ride a ride like St Margarets (c.90 miles and 4000ft of climbing including 20%+ hills, some of which were very challenging) fixed can make a decision on fixed v. gears.
On that basis, you people will be more than comfortable with fixed. It is a social ride, following our noses, enjoying the countryside, gulping down a few pints beside Herford College, and meeting with some family and forum colleagues based in Oxford. It is not a time trial, or otherwise competitive event.
If you can find the Garmin co-ordinates in Gullivers Travels, I will be happy to add them to the thread.
