Dear LFGSS guitar nerds. I thought this might be a good place to ask about singing advice.
Thinking of actually trying to sing some stuff with my wee bit of guitar playing. Not done this before and have a really innacurate weak voice, so need something easy but good sounding to sing.
My vocal range seems to be just over one octave from Ab below C3, to C4. This really is the max range. Can anyone recommend something good that I can both play & sing? Some old country standard would be nice, perhaps a bit ragtimey or mellow rock n roll etc. Want to work on something slowish to get my voice consistent before belting out something fast and punchy. (Like I said, the notes coming out of my gob are a bit random at best).

worth it for comedy 'YEEEEUUUURH!'
Thats a pile of turds in comparison to THIS:

&v=_MWDnyWUAfg Nick Plays Faster "Giant Steps" Jazz Guitar - YouTube[/ame]Especially when you consider the detailed dynamics and jazz syncopation going on here, where the metaller is just playing flat 16th notes with the aid of the compressive effect of heavy distortion.

Im having a bit of a jazz/swing frenzy right now. Cannot get enough of it. I find most standard modern rock stuff boring as hell, there is no rythmic variety/swing nor the "colour" of odd and often dissonant multiple note melodies.
I hate shit jazz though, there is nothing worse - except for perhaps funk. But good dark jazz like coltrane played through the groove laden guitar playing styles of people like barney kessel is absolutely awesome.

In the past (almost) thirty years I've gone from 60s fuzz monster to tastefully over-amped high energy rock to zingy Big Star crunch to clean and country to Steve Cropper staccato slash and now I'm back to super-over-amped-EL34-heavy-distortion-armageddon-hellmare...
Never been happier... :]

I love playing on my little home set-up... My £200 Epiphone Wilshire through a Mk I Marshal Guv'nor into a Fender Champion 600... So shredworthy...

are 9volt battery-b-gone mains adapters entirely proprietary or are they pretty much a one size fits all affair, presuming the pluggy bit that goes into yer pedal fits?

I bought a great pedal the other day, and had so much fun messing around with it I thought I should capture the lolz. Its an Earthquaker Devices Bit Commander, which is like a noisy guitar synth with extra awesome. Ignore the playing. You can also use it to play cool stuff, I just got carried away.

I bought a set of new strings to replace the knackered ones on a second hand guitar I bought a couple months ago.
I wanted to get the same gauge strings as the action already felt pretty high, but I misjudged and got even heavier! So Im worried about having really high action (I actualy like playing heavier strings).
I was wondering if this is a good time to start fiddling with the truss rod? I have no prior experience of guitar adjustment/setup. The saddle is non-adjustable, but a thin one so is as low as it could be.
