but even without it, getting shut down half way up the inside of 20 tons of steel and concrete on your first undertaking attempt should have dissuaded you from trying again. Yes, you lived to tell the tale this time, and made up fully 20 yards compared with staying behind it from Cambridge Circus to Great Windmill Street, but if you'd got squished you'd have ruined the day of the truck driver who was doing nothing wrong, and I'd have had to waste half an hour giving a statement to that effect to the attending cops.
