Marks & Sparks, my best fit is a 51-52cm bike and ride a 53cm 'Roller. I have my saddle 1cm further forward than I would on a bike with a smaller TT. You could get a shorter stem, too.
I used P-clips for my mudguards and they stay put. No need for braze ons.
It is odd the way Surly skip a size. 49, 53 , 55, 57.
Skydancer has a 49, I believe.
