OK I admit asking for free is extreme but asking for a significant discount from say the pre-DSC age seems fair to me.
I totally agree that there is talent involved but the value of that talent seems radically diminished by the improvement and the accessibility of (sometimes) good enough alternatives such as a friend with a DSC and PS.
A letter is different from an email in so many ways, but often it is "good enough" and competing with free is tough, that's all.
