If you had two hours in a machine shop with materials and machines to your expense what would you make?
I'd drill lots of holes in Milandro's gf's Peugeot.

Maybe a Giant TCR?
-
• #19034
Well, what do you know, the stickers all over the frame were correct!
Giant TCR Advanced, Soul C5.0 Wheels, Sram Red.

Ha! What a mong.
Somehow I managed to completely miss that one - I just thought it said Giant as well.

Paris. It's randomly in the business district under the huge white arch-shaped building but is very good.
Zurich also has a good but small one.

winter tyres
am not planning on 5th floor/boikzmoind skidding through winter, but looking for a decent relatively puncture resistant fast rolling grippy tyre (i clearly want it all) - i tend to use a brake rather than skid, hence this is not going in the skid resistant tyre thread
have been using my summer tyre of choice - the michelin pro race 3 but have had 2 slashed to death on the rear in the past couple of weeks (they had been rotated off the road bike so not too bothered, they had done their time already)
for the rear am quite happy to use a 25mm tyre - benefit of slightly lower pressure so less chance of penetrative punctures
do not want to use an gatorskin or armadillo as I did not find them grippy enough
last year i got some conti 4 seasons against my better judgement for the road bike, they punctured on their first outing, and were just a world of fail

marathons?

try a durano plus.
i find them pretty grippy and they are so far puncture proof, 2 months on the rear with skids and a front brake.
i run them at 110psi, 25's.
they roll well enough.
got a set for gratis after complaining to schwalbe about the miserable durano skid.
didn't want to like them but kinda do now.winter tyres

Good European town for Christmas markets? Currently thinking Germany - maybe Cologne.
I was in Berlin pre-xmas last year and there was 3 or 4 really large, really traditional markets (read: plenty of wurst and glühwein). Also, the added bonus of being in Berlin, one of the better Euro cities

Not that I'm decrying any of the other excellent suggestions, but I'll add one more.
Mainz has a fine xmas market in the main square beneath the Dom (the cathedral). Since it's cold as buggery outside at xmas in most of Germany, the museums are also useful for when you're not glugging gluhwein.
There's the Gutenberg museum for people who like books, and the Roman Ship museum for those who like ships. Also, it's only a short train ride from Frankfurt airport, so easy to get to from both the UK and Birmingham.

Fizik Arione CX, K:ium rails, standard Ritchey WCS seat rail clamp, works:
Fizik Arione K1, carbon rails, carbon specific Ritchey WCS seat rail clamp, does not appear to work:
The rails are oval in section rather than round, which the seat rail clamp is extended to deal with, but not by enough.
Anyone know if Ritchey make an even deeper one?
Or does anyone have a solution that does not involve a dremel?
-
• #19046
Aha, there is a Fizik specific one, I have the "normal" carbon rail clamp it would appear:
