2011-04-03 Sun - Cambridge ride. Fixed-wheel bicycle required

We rode this route (as far as Royston) and back last night. I bet it is gorgeous during the day but we chose a totally moonless night. It was very dark.

It was also crap leaving London that way during rush hour. Felt like 20mi of stop start until we hit the sticks.

Can't wait to give it a go during the day.

Just did this route again, starting from enfield and joining it at royston after a twat of a hill. Managed to incorporate a couple of unplanned variations (was working from memory) but it was a great ride and the weather is amazing.

Ta, here's the climb towards Roydon. It was quite pretty apart from me gurning and random cars refusing to wait at the passing places as they hurtled towards me down the hill.

I chanced on that one once while not expecting it at all.

I'm down with this, the last one completely passed me by.

impending fatherhood and renovating my house have kind taken precedent!

Note that I only started from Enfield 'cos that's where I live. I wouldn't say it was any better a route than going out via Epping Forest, possibly worse. The roads up around the M25 are quite busy.

itsbruce, can you confirm the roads up around the M25 being very busy? I dunno, last time I was up around the m25 it was pretty leafy, dirt single-track through the underbrush, saw a golfcourse or two, one underground sewer, gravel etc.

Up for 30th...will try and get some of the other ladies along too.

@ rhowe I live in Southgate, so Enfield is more direct for me than going south first.
