Massive BB shell? What's that about
-
• #51305
No, Schwalbe were the ones giving the orders, so they can't even invoke that spurious defence.

Could be for a one piece crank.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether Diatech CB-2 1 1/8th headsets come with different size crown races?
I just bought a frame with a CB-2 in it, I built the bike up but there's give in the headset - the only thing I can think that could be wrong is that the crown race is too big for the forks. The crown race is a clip on one, and seemed to fit fine though...
So does anyone know about whether the races come in different diameters (and if you can buy them separately), or have any advice about what else could be wrong?
Cheers.

Light as air and strong as an ox? Probably pretty crap. You want cottered-a-likes?

just saw how cheap they were and thought they might suit my old road conversion better than the drive line track cranks that are on their now. would like FSA gimondi but theyre 5x the price.

You have like an 80's/90's dutch frame though, no? Why would you want to downgrade cranks?! Keep with what you've got would be my advice.

yeh your right about my frame, the cranks are ok i haven't had any problems with them so far. do you know if i can buy a silver or more 'retro' looking chairing for them though because the black one doesn't suit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Driveline-Single-Speed-Fixed-Track-Crank-175mm-/150665972691?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item2314644bd3

Apart from the Stronglight cranks/ 52t chainring everything else will be original... will be taking it to powdercoaters soon to get a fresh paintjob..then the decals are waiting paitiently! I'm in the process of polishing bars, seatpost etc but can't wait to ride it again!

tbh I was a bit apprehensive about using 52/16 free or 52/17 fixed in the city, but I'm 6'5 and have been getting along just fine ! It's so fast!

awesome gear ratio, not much skidding though? i have 48/16 fixed and im 6 foot 2, its a pain to get going but once you get going cruising at fairly high speed is quite relaxed which is 'mint'.

I had 42/16 on my OTP Plug and hated it both fixed and free. I then upped to 46/16 with a TA chainring and was more pleased but still, too much spinning. I think 52/17 fixed is my favourite so far... But you are right, a bit of a pain at the lights.
^ mentioning that is enough.
