  • Fuck the rain! Thought we were gonna get away with a dry start, should clear up by about 10 according to the Met... See y'all later...

  • Yeah, doesn't look like it now, but it's meant to be 21 degrees, and sunny, this afternoon.

  • Just passed Milton Keynes. Google says we should get to Newington about 10am...

  • On my way, which is a euph for I'm late. Hopefully get there around 10.

  • Newt is empty, where are you all?

  • On my way, which is a euph for I'm late. Hopefully get there around 10.

    Same, don't think we're first game anyway…

  • I can't get the knockout challonge to work? Anyone know the result?

  • I just deleted 'knockout' from the end of the link and it worked. Congrats Spring Break!

  • cheers for having us guys and letting some newbes join in! sorry couldnt stay for finals but only just made train back.

Had an awesome day and think we've learnt more in a day playing than have in last few months hope to be up for some evening games soon.

  • Brilliant day guys thanks so much. special thanks to my radical team mates ben and alexis, was great to see how much better we got playing as a team as the day went on. congrats SB (you win everything these days) who got MVP?
also Alfie has lost his thin Gill, blue and beige gloves. if anyone finds them it would be greatly appreciated.

  • The knockout results are now up at http://challonge.com/bff2011knockout

I didn't catch the scores for the final, 3rd place, and first semi, so I made them 1-0.

If anyone knows the correct scores I'll fix that.

A few useful lessons learnt from that, from an organising/scheduling point of view.

    1) Byes are shit. There just is no fair way to deal with them in Swiss. So in the future we really need to make sure we have an even number of teams.

    2) Draws are a bit shit. It does seriously disadvantage a team in Swiss, to the point where it might be better to lose, to get an easier game in the next round. Maybe we should consider getting rid of them in Swiss.

    3) A full Swiss, and then a single elim seems to work well. Yes some higher seeded teams got knocked out of the knockout early, but in the end the usual teams got the final anyway.
