Which winter shoes / boots are people using?

The lakes are well respected by people who's opinions I respect, so I wouldn't think twice if I had the money.
Even slightly cold feet can ruin a nice ride.
Your motivation to go out in the cold is definitely higher when you know the elements aren't going to ruin things.
Good kit is an investment worth making.
