Any news on a ridgeback solo bike for 2012? I love the idea of carbon forks but can take mudguards and a rack sometimes if I need to. Or are there any other bikes like this?

The Dawes Mono, though not sure.
-

That Dawes is pretty hideous, but for £370 it seems well spec'd... and is basically as much as you'll ever need from a bike in london.
-

I'm not a huge fan of the Dawes but I do think it would be possible to make it look nice.

Pearson... wow... they've spent a bunch (or not enough!) on a reinvigorating the brand...
from road.cc
*The 10 Goal is designed for bicycle polo but, as there isn’t a great deal of that about, it’ll also be used as a general urban machine. You get rear-facing dropouts for running it fixed/singlespeed and a distinctive curved seat tube. The frame will set you back £249 and a typical build from about £599 – although you can spend a bit more and pimp it up if you like.

All I can says is this; no to the Dawes, even though it look good for the money, the original Ridgeback was mile better.

Pearson frame & forks is nice. But they fucked up by adding the silly "fixy" stuff like white chain and odd white bit on the seatstay.

Those Pearson graphics are soooo bad. Seven remain the nexus of frame logo graphic shitness but that that just looks like a mid 80's skateboard brand screenprint t-shirt. Spliffy frames anybody?

249- for a polo/town frame with curved seattube and horizontal toptube doesnt sound that bad to me. If its cheap I dont mind using some nitromors on it or something if the graphics are too hideous.
-
• #564
I don't play polo, but I reckon people wouldn't mind paying a little extra if that turn out to be a good polo frame.
on-one, you're missing out.

I thought Pompinos were good polo frames.

I no longer reckon Scoble works at Evans, instead he is now the designer of most of the bikes being released for 2012.
Possibly not the Ritte cx bike or the Stevens at the top of this page.

Cinelli are doing a SSCX bike for the US market.
It's a MASH thing. Anyone got good pics?

Looks like they need to get a cable cutter down at MASH

Feck for that money you could put flat bars on a top of the range Madone, with Zipps, guards, and a rear rack.
-

it wouldn't have belt drive or disc brakes though so would be far less 'cool'.

really like the 2.0
obv its much more expensive than the 2011 bike but nice that they got rid of the weedy seatpost/massive seattube aesthetic.
