are people taking locks with them?
I don't leave home without at least one.
-
• #353
Right, we've got route, times, brakkz & pedal options, attendants... but what we saying about wardrobe...?
people hitting the full lycra get up?
-
• #354
This was discussed last night. Skirts and painted nails, obvs. Bonus points if you can paint your nails whilst cycling.
I will be wearing lycra under the skirt!
-
• #355
That's my girl! Skirt is ready, nails planed for the relaxing evening before THE HELL lol

Ed, I'd love that but I work during the day and will have to prevail upon Guapo to get the bike to your shop. Which is it?
Wimbledon, shop closed at 8pm, not working so I have time to replace the cable which may take about half an hour, is the gears friction or indexed?
-
• #357
Oh, right.
Indexed. Poorly. Can you repair hubs? (not tomorrow, obvs.) The Ultegra rear hub is fuxored and needs to be looked at. Also think I must needs replace the cassette.
I will be there after work, probs 17:45 or slightly earlier.

• #358
Fuxored! I actually said fuxored!
-
• #359
Ugh, I will not be there after work. I have to go home, then take my bike on the train to Wimbledon Evans. So it will take me slightly longer.
-
• #360
Oh. Aram reminded me that the headset is fuxored, too.

And bike oil.
Hmmm....

I will be wearing my Brighton there-and-back dress.
-

Hurrah! Wanted to check you were still coming!

I will be wearing my Brighton there-and-back dress.
I spent this spring/summer vaguely yearning for the perfect cycling dress. didn't find. maybe next year...
-
• #367
I can't pretend any effort has gone into this I'm afraid. It'll be whatever dress I can find that's not on the floor and/or covered in cat hair, and doesn't clash with my crankset.

Rosie, your mere presence will be more than enough.

ALL of those (possible exception wine/cheese) would be AWESOME!!

I really love the spds because I can pull up with my feet as well as push down so in a way they'd be brilliant for Ditchling. Maybe I just need to do some emergency unclipping practice between now and Saturday! :)
The SPDs were excellent on Ditchling - and I didn't actually fall over... just gave me extra incentive to keep pedalling! If you're really nervous, loosen them a little so that it doesn't take much to unclip. I have my pedals set pretty loose for commuting so that if I can get out in a hurry almost by instinct.
I'm supposed to be seeing a friend that I haven't seen for months on Saturday so unlikely to make it unless she blows me out at the last minute - has been known...

Pootsmanuva and Lolabelle, I'll be riding to Clapham from Tufnell Park and it would be great to travel down with you guys if you're nearby. :)
Still in a pedal choice quandary.....

no problemo! what about meeting in Archway? I think Xander will be rolling with us from the bottom of Swains, Poots from Tottenham and me from Crouch End so I guess is sort of convenient for everybody? Any other ideas? Time?

the pickle and ice cream is maybe an american joke. what do pregnant ladies jokingly crave here in the UK?
Tanya G! Come! Been ages since I've seen you. NO WIERD POPCORN THOUGH /Serious face
And spotter, I'm taking a lock but only because I'm not sure about bike storage where I'm staying sat night...which reminds me I should check that out.
