in the short term. but dieting, particularly sudden calorie reductions over, say months/weeks, is quite often unsustainable for long periods (years and years) .. whereas a love of sport and exercise lasts a lifetime. that's the secret to long-term weight management, finding a sport (or sports) you are passionate about. most of us on here have bike riding, for others it's team sports, others lifting heavy weights.
if your primary goal is focused on having a good body, then it's unlikely that it'll work out in the long-term. a good body should come naturally from physical movement, as a kind of bonus.
