  • But while the fruit fills a hole, it's leaving you feeling unsatisfied or you wouldn't be vulnerable to the sweet treats on offer. Fruit is very virtuous but most of us have been trained to associate certain things (some cereal-based carbs some chocolate, etc.) with real food. In my experience, you can either try and maintain iron discipline (which takes a long time to master and leaves you vulnerable to binges meanwhile) or you can just train your expectations down and have enough of a little treat to keep you honest.

    Or just run 5K in your lunchbreak
