hey
I'm 5'5'' and I use 52cm (although my CX is 49cm). I wouldn't even consider a 53cm or higher.
Unfortunately I don't have anything for sale at the moment, of course things come up, but not so often in the right size and as a result all my bikes were bought new.
Best of luck in your quest, your fiancé is a lucky lady as that is truly the best gift ever!!!

yeah try looking for something between 49cm - 52cm. Ideally 50cm..
52cm is really a max I think unless she has really long legs...

Great advice. WIll scale down to 50cm then. Make it even more difficult i suppose!
Fatoldbloke. Cheers but stepthru is no good. -

Sounds ideal for the Tweed Run next year :-).
Good luck with the bike build.

I have a small frame & forks that I could sell you if interested. I'm going to be really vague here and say I can't remember the maker, sorry! But it's a 49/50cm if I remember correctly - I'm 5"5 and ride a 50-52cm frame normally, so I would have thought size would be good for your girlfriend.
I love the frame, just never got around to building it up because my need for it wasn't essential. I think it's 501 tubing, paintwork is a bit tatty but lots of charm - doesn't matter if you're powder coating it I guess. £50. PM me if interested. E. -

@cafewanda she was so jealous of us at the tweed run this year it is what set her off wanting a fixeh skidder
@reculver would do if they had the right size/colour
@stelle sounds perfect, have PM'd.
Hello LFGSS ladies. Firstly may i say that if me posting this here causes any offence or grumblings then please do let me know and i will delete the thread and head off to the classifieds!
OK. I am building my fiancé a bike for Christmas so thought i should start sourcing parts early so as to not get myself in a pickle. She currently has a trek sofa on wheels and wants a singlespeed to actually let her get places fast rather than by enjoying the view!
I am therefore looking for a nice frame to start with. She would like a classic looking (thin tubing) steel frame. She is 5'4" tall (will try ascertain inside leg measurement) so i guess somewhere around 52cm seat tube. If anyone has any thoughts on that size being correct and obviously what have any of you lovely folks got going for sale? I will most likely get it powdercoated so colour/condition is not that important, would prefer horizontal dropouts but semi-horizontal will do. Cheaper the better as it will be somewhat of an experiment in how she gets on without gears.
Thanks in advance. Theo
