I still bet a load of rich amateurs with weak little legs splurge a little of their wealth on these, when the money could be spent to better effect in various other areas.
If they also spend on trick wheels, wind tunnel sessions, coaching and 3-week spring training camps, your problem with them comes down to envy :-)

have you seen their rando/tourer type machine ed? think you might like it....
Don't think I have, you don't mean the filter do you?
-
• #504
its a long shot but does anyone know any kind of release date for the scissor v3? gonna use it as my winter bike. it may be a stupid question but does the fact that its a 2012 bike mean it will actually come out in 2012 or is it like the 2012 "season" which starts soon?
-
• #505
Well, they're apparently ready to be ordered from Evans (21 days mean coming from the manufacturer rather than their warehouse).
-
• #506
you mean a pre-order?
-
• #507
has this been here?

That must be a shop build with that crappy and obsolete 3T stem.
-
• #509
Pretty tempted by a BMC Mass Challenge, no doubt it will be speny though

I started typing how I thought a % of these used will be put to good use, but hoped you'd assume I recognised their benefit to elite athletes, along with other serious racers as well... But I still bet a load of rich amateurs with weak little legs splurge a little of their wealth on these, when the money could be spent to better effect in various other areas.
It's a tester and triantelope thing as they're anti-social buggers ;) Most amateur road and track riders don't bother with one as they train in groups most of the time anyway

I want one, but you seen the fucking price?!
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/charge/scissor-2012-single-speed-bike-ec029990
£750

Also this looks a world of fun.

Well I was thinking, for the price of one of them you could probably afford coaching, gym and training camps.... I know which would have more effect on my riding!

I think i might do...

fair one.

Thing is, a lot of those overpaid MAMILS do all of the above as well as spending shit loads of money on SRMs, Zipps, Cervelos etc.
-
• #515
Not that there is anything wrong with that. I've just been riding with a bunch of Deloitte employees on their Cervelo 'winter' bikes. Nice guys.

• #516
I like the paint on the Cinelli, but is already old in it's design, and will probably be overpriced.
I'd rather have this Giant. Unassuming to look at, but the mutts nuts if it's as good as the 2011 bike.

That build is £1399 at Wiggle, or £1,119.99 if you use the current 20% promo code

I think you pay for the novelty of owning a Cinelli.
You can pick up a 2011 Caadx with 105 for £800 at the moment which is a bargain.

Blue fatty — new Commencal Meta AM. One of the most elegant AM fullies.

Wow.

• #521
Are the bars set up correctly on the Cinelli?
I ask because I have some Ritchey ones that have the same bend, but the rough section where the lever band is meant to grip the bars is at the first bend of the drop, if that makes sense, which would mean that the levers on the Cinelli would be mounted above the rough section.

Complete cransket including SRM unit went for £256 on eBay on Monday, if you had a BB30 frame that is.
Hollowgram cranks, axle assembly, spider, head unit, blah blah.
-
• #523
And you didn't buy it?
-
• #524
I went for a run during the final 30 minutes of the auction- an effective method of making sure I did not weaken and purchase it.

• #525
I'm disappointed in you.
