Amazon seem to be sending some of their bigger stuff via Yodel now.

I have had many difficulties when getting stuff delivered by YODEL from Amazon so +1
-
• #4
eesh how annoying.
How many times do we have to mention Yodel before this thread shows up on Google?
-
• #5
I seen the DO NOT USE YODEL warning on many other forumz too...

Paid by PayPal. I have been in lengthy discussions with the guy who sold it to me. He's been nothing but completely helpful - Even to the extent of phoning premium rate lines in the UK from Holland...
I understand that it's in the hands of the seller to a certain degree. He has done his best to track down what has happened to the bike. But keeps hitting brick walls when he has to deal with HDNL / YODEL... All we want is Proof of Delivery. Neither of us seem to be able to get it from them.
Just put in Yodel Reviews or HDNL reviews in Google for other tales of absolute woe. Just awful.

missmouse had mail ordered something and it was delivered by these muppets
saturday morning we were both in the house, yet a card was left saying no one was in, no details given on the card for tracking no or similar
missmouse tried to get information from them and was eventually told the package had been signed for
actually they had left the parcel with a neighbour anyway

They said this was the case with me. Only no card. Nothing left with neighbour. Poof. Bike gone.

Bit rubbish given that Yodel was a major sponsor of the Tour of Britain. Perhaps they should spend less money on sponsorship and concentrate on core business...
-
• #10
Maybe they needed my bike for that ;) :(

The company I work for tried using Yodel - they were a complete disaster (and this was during a trial period for a big contract) - we went back to DPD.

I had a printer delivered via Home Delivery Network and no one was in and the safe place they designated was...
in a bin on the day the bins are taken. They eventually reimbursed me but only after loads of calls and a letter.Awful company and poor attitude towards customers.

My housemate is currently battling Yodel for the 2nd time this week (two different consignments)
total wasters

Thee Royal Mail (Parcelforce) FTW .
Go away with your personal anecdotal woes. -

Parcel Force left my last signed for delivery sat on the door mat.
This was quite handy, as otherwise I'd have had to go to the sorting office to get it, but all the same it was a fairly expensive amount of bike parts sat on the doormat, free to the first avaricious passerby.

I actually followed a link to see the status of my delivery with yodal and it said 'signed for by alex' - the cheek! very surprised Gap is using them.

I ordered a bulk buy on some hosiery and when I opened the door to the delivery man from Yodel he punched me in the face and called me a nonce. Then he drop kicked the package back down the path and, before getting in to his van, took a swipe at a War Veteran who was riding past on a mobility scooter.
I think it's fair to say I won't be using them again. -

so the 5th floor crew became couriers?

Ace Ventura Smashes Package - YouTube
Seriously though this is a horrible story. Every time I order something online I enter a state of fear over whether or not it'll turn up so I'll keep an eye out for The Home Delivery Network or Yodel in the future and avoid at all costs. Hope your bike shows up soon!

...Parcel force kindly left my bulk Falafel Mix order on the doormat in the rain.
".Parcel Force left my last signed for delivery sat on the door mat" - Officially not allowed to. -

To be honest, there are times when I would quite like to have a swipe at people in mobility scooters. Does this make me a bad person?Seriously the number of times I've nearly been knocked off my feet by an old codger speeding towards me on the pavement. And what about when they go on the road? Grrrr.

Very good Will.
Speaking of which, the following appeared in the "Get it off your TXT” section (page 51) of Monday's Evening Standard: "*Within a couple of minutes of going out at lunchtime in Holborn last Thursday I saw one cyclist riding on the pavement, one going through a red light as I was crossing the road and a third riding along listening to her headphones. Unbelievable!"
*sigh
Sorry to bore you all with a tale of woe.
I ordered a bike on here a while back (4 weeks or so ago) and it was shipped by the reputable and very helpful person on here I bought it from, by TNT Post Netherlands.
On the 8th September it allegedly arrived at it's destination. According to the TNT Post tracking system. Only it hadn't arrived. Nor was there any form of calling card.
I then go away on holiday and contact the supplier, who tells me that the Home Delivery Network are the courier who dealt with it once it reached the UK.
Once I get back from holiday I call them to ask where my parcel is. They tell me it's gone 2 doors down to my neighbour. I knock on their door and they have not seen it. They weren't even in on the 8th September.
I am now in the process of trying to get information about where my bike has gone. A very difficult process, as they refuse to give me a proof of delivery - The driver didn't leave a calling card, nor did he get the name of the person who signed for it.
There is literally no end in sight. I have lost a £275 bike and nobody seems to be able to help.
So .. Word of warning. Do not, under any circumstances use The Home Delivery network or Yodel to deliver your precious cargo. They are completely shit, will lose it, chuck it in a skip or simply steal it.
