I will be trailing well behind on the monster hill - I have a limited amount of tough and when that runs out, I'll be walking! ...however, I went for a walk along the South Downs with some friends yesterday, which included a walk over the top of Ditchling, and weirdly, actually quite looking forward to it now! Reckon the view from the top / realisation that it's done will be well worth it! (Famous last words)

Do it, do it, do it! Most of us are going to be walking up Bitchling, and the weather looks like it's going to be glorious by the end of the week. Think of the beach! Think of the amazing view at the top of Bitchling when you get the first view of the sea, think of the lush last 5 or 6 miles that are all down hill, think how nice an ice cold beer tastes after a long ride.

5 or 6 miles downhill fixed does not sound lush!!

I'm deffo keeping 2 brakes! At some points of downhill rides I wish I had 4! And Bitchling sounds like one of them...

I rode to cambridge brakeless. not as many hills but it was still utter hell. would not recommend!

It's totally fine and doable with one brake.

Seriously, everybody take a chill pill. It is not even the toughest hill in the county! Then again, I was seriously afraid of it first time I set off...but also pleasantly surprised when I actually got to it.
