also infinitely re-watchable: Rear Window with the gorgeous visuals and Grace Kelly's costume changes. okay, so it isn't 'heavyweight' but it is beautiful and clever. Notorious is less successful visually (despite or maybe because of the fancy camerawork that didn't quite convince) but the characterisation is great.
I confess to not having watched "I Confess".
