^ what killed boarderlands for me right from the outset was there was no DRM at all, nice in theory, but you could edit the files of the game to gives your weapons whatever stats you liked.

You could just not edit them ;) ;P

If you've got an nvidia GPU theres a program (forgotten the name, possibly NVTweak) where you can force/unlock a bajillion graphic settings for borderlands (and others) that make it absolutely stunning :)
