That was the 'less according to plan' bit. I was using a workshop compressor, without the valve core in the way, and more air flowed than expected... the bead popped off at what must have been about 100 psi.
Both ends done, but I haven't got the right tyres. Having picked up one of DJ's wheels and wondered why gravity wasn't working, I want the lightness of a tubeless, but also a more road-friendly tread than knobblies give.
Marathon XRs weigh tons and don't puncture anyway, but it's all in the name of 'learning'.
