I think a few people have 175's and it's ok if you're freewheel. For a beginner bike they'll probably be fine Rick.

Your 32t chainring is on and working well. Woohoo. (Might be able to slam the wheel a bit more with a half-link.)
Main issue now is getting a whole 26" front... I used the wheel off my Rockhopper on Tuesday but that bike's kinda sentimental and I'd rather not mash it if possible...
