True, however for commuting the thought process might be that cable discs are "good enough", now that discs can be used in top level racing, the first company to bring out "true hydraulic" drop bar brakes is going to get a big marketing push for free.
There will be a certain amount of prestige also.
Do you reckon that Shimano would have launched Di2 if it was illegal in UCI sanctioned races?
