I agree. The vast majority of cyclocross bikes that are sold are not raced and are mainly used for commuting where disc brakes, and their reliable braking in all weathers, would be beneficial.

Exactly why I will be upgrading. Weirdly, I'd be more inclined to race on rim brakes, then commute. I'd give the race'd bike so much more TLC before a race, than my commuter ever sees.
