Can't see how a UCI change would had led to investment from the large bike companies. The majority of riders of OTP cyclocross bikes are not racing in UCI events and those that do don't number that many do they? Not in overall bike sales terms.
I agree. The vast majority of cyclocross bikes that are sold are not raced and are mainly used for commuting where disc brakes, and their reliable braking in all weathers, would be beneficial.
