long shot, but I read an article a month or two ago about a scandinavian bank (i don't remember which country) that keeps a tight cap on CEO:lowest paid employee salary ratio and weathered the financial crisis easily as it was not particularly leveraged.

No idea, but pretty sure it's not in Iceland.
