Is that the same as this? I tired putting it on with my v-brake and it just didn't work. Went to Brixton Cycle and they said the pull isn't long enough for v-brakes... ???
I use that with v-brakes. It's not supposed to work, but if your rims are straight and you can set up brakes well enough it actually works pretty awesomely with standard v-brakes. I used mini-v's at first, but they were significantly worse than normal ones. Having said that, I like my brakes to bite close-ish to the bars (more power from your fingers at that point I reckon).

Gah. The Towel Rack™ build is stymied. Was going to get my dinged-up front rim trued today, but discovered the hub is totally fecked.
Anyone have a 26" front?
Also: my crank remover has vanished... one step forwards, two steps back... #hatelosingtools

I've got a crank puller you can borrow, should be easy enough getting a free front wheel...

Not for me then, couldn't even get my current v-brakes to work at the first place, and my wheels are beyond help. Anybody wants my promax dual brake lever then? Is rik still selling his fancy custom made ones? Might look into getting one.

I might be up for the promax lever, what clamp size is it?
-
• #6634
I found long pull promax levers on eBay and bought their last two (from china), I can find their details if you want though? Unbranded version but is obviously from a similar/the same factory? They cost ~£25?

Paul, you could have it for £8. The clamp size is 25.4mm. It doesn't come with the barrel adjusters though, but you can get them from your LBC for like 50p each or something.

Sweet, can you bring it on tuesday?

^ Yap. I have also got your ipod and the boombox.
-
• #6644
Koolies, we need to find a boombox guardian, my bag isn't big enough for boombox as well as pads, coats, toolkit, etc.
-
• #6645
True! My bag was just big enough for all the above when it's empty. When uni starts in a couple of weeks, I'd be coming from there instead of home... Maybe a few of us could take turns or something?
-
• #6646
Yeah, I'll sort out something on tuesday, I can probably squeeze it in this week, the only bigger bag I have is 70 litres though...
-
• #6647
Actually, I might be more flexible with taking it home as I can't see my lazy ass riding my polo bike to uni. Let's not get into long discussion here, let's talk about it tomorrow.

There is nothing polo likes more than long discussions on here.

He's a sysadmin right? He's making sure the servers are working by reading Lfgss? :)
You can get a set of mini-v brakes for about £12 if you shop around... Someone mentioned there's a regular v-brake Promax lever available now, where from?
