  • I am going to use marino, should stop playing with cad things and stick to the important bits really

  • rob, why do you need a 58 tt?

  • dunno, ste's felt too short, therefore I figured a longer one would feel better

    #fullofinnuendo

  • are you still high? ;)

  • alas, no

  • Does anyone who's coming to Bristol know anyone/have any Identiti clamp-on v-brake mounts for sale?

    #Longshot

  • This might be a stupid question; where can I get a cheap seat clamp for my pomp?? It says on the on one website that it needs a 29.8mm clamp but have had a look around online and that size is kind of of expensive to get hold of. I don't suppose it's a good idea to force a 28.6mm clamp on??

  • ^ I've got a thomson one you can have for a tenner, only a few months old.

  • I'll take that if ExTra doesn't want it, Josh...

  • I am really tempted with the Thomson... hummm...

TS, if you were to take the Thomson, would you then have a decent quality 29.8mm seat clamp I could have?

I'd take the Thomson if TS doesn't have anything cheaper I could have.

  • I may have one you could have for nothing... Need to get it measured but I think it's the right size (i.e. 30mm, that's what I have on my Pomp)...

  • Nothing is the magic word I love to hear. Please let me know. I would love to have the thomson on my pomp, but I have only just started playing polo so using fancy parts seem like a sin... :-P

  • couple of recent upgrades to my bike: fizik arione, profile 160mm cranks (thanks max!), halo aerowarrior rear wheel (thanks joni) as my bike gets uglier and uglier it is starting to feel more and more better to play on.

  • Can someone tell me the inside and outside diameters of the thin black piping. I think it's 2.25" and 2.5"

63mm od and 56mm id, if i remember rightly.

  • Cheers Max, that adds up with what I thought.

  • was chatting about this last night. whats with everyone doing the triple triangle thing on new polo frames?

  • According to GT, it's stronger and stiffer.

  • More contact points/welds means the seat tube cluster will be stronger, so better if you do lots of hopping around or pivot turns.

The quality of the material/workmanship will play a role too, the downside is the additional weight and the potential for the cluster to interfere with your thighs if too bulky/extreme.

Stiffer? Probably, although the reduced size of the rear triangle will also have to deal with more stress (per inch) at the rear.

  • was chatting about this last night. whats with everyone doing the triple triangle thing on new polo frames?

    It looks cool?

  • that would be my reasoning

  • Maybe they are all really big Hans Rey fans?

  • It will put your v brake in a different position, possibly interfering with back of thigh. If you use v brakes.

As long as the seat stays are joind across the sides of the seat tube meeting the top tube (imagine a tiny triple traingle with no gap) then you will be fine.

    I decided against triple triangle.

  • If you had wanted it, you would have had it a year ago and it would have been a trend already.

  • ...possibly interfering with back of thigh. If you use v brakes...

    Whut?
