Over here the Volvo guys have just cracked the ability to remap the existing (Bosch-Motronic) ECU, over in North America it's Megasquirt or GTFO it would seem for the majority, with the more dedicated using VEM's or ProEFI.
The chap running ProEFI a) hates the lack of documentation and b) is running consistant 10 second passes with it, using it to control the nitrous and the launch control as well as fuelling and boost.
