apparently it WAS a timed game and nobody heard time being called as Daddy scored. Gutted for 'em.

Stupid. At the 'end' of the timed game, they stopped it, and then started it up again.
CMD should have at least had a shot at a second final. Thumbs down to that. Poor decision.

Wow...awesome...cmd came 2nd!! Wish we were all there to have cheered em on...what a triumph for euro polo...amazing results for ponies too. Concrats to rorys team though. But 5 euro teams in top 10 is wicked, stoked for them. Props to all eu teams who went out there. to think we could have and should have sent even more of our top teams out. In just a few years Europe has stepped up to change the global Polo order. Worlds 2012 and euros will dominate podium - no joke!!

Not the correct decision according to Euro rules.

"7. Overtime
7.1 – A game will go into overtime if it is a tied match on the elimination rounds.
7.2 – When the time runs out, the referee must announce the beginning of overtime by calling “golden goal”.
7.2.1 – The game continues into "extra time" without interruption."

But apparently the NA ruleset is different:

"Overtime:

During the elimination rounds where a winner must be determined and the match results in a tie at the end of regulation time, the game will be stopped. The match will enter “sudden death” overtime where the first team to score will be declared the winner. The ball will be reset at center court. Each team will return to their side and the referee will oversee another joust."

The reset after time (pre golden goal) makes sense if we're following other sports, but yeah we didn't adopt it last season.

One of the reasons being that it puts a halt to any momentum/excitement in the game, another was that it adds more time/scheduling problems to games (a tiny bit).

But surely it makes no difference at all if its tied at 4-4 and its first to 5?

I can't think of any good reason to stop the game at the end of regulation time. But I wasn't party to the NAH rules discussion, so perhaps there is one that I am too obtuse to conceive of.
