  • 3 or 4 steps ahead of you...

  • Whats the point of cyclocross if the track is open?

  • Whoops forgot the ;)

  • But I meant it.

  • Whats the point of cyclocross if the track is open?

Says the man dabbling in road racing...

  • 3 or 4 steps ahead of you...

good glad to hear it.hope the sun shines on the 31st

  • Says the man dabbling in road racing...

only because the track is closed!!

Actually Id give it all a go if I had the time, the bikes and the space for all the bikes.

  • The resurfacing is happening a little later than thought - so there are two more weekends.

Make the most of it, the track will now shut on 18th July.

  • ffs

  • the porous tarmacadam is indeed very porous and grippy, dries in about 45 mins or less.
whens the HH regulars booking Bournemouth for a private session? £30 an hour between all of you. come and try that sticky black.

Porus macadam? That's interesting, can't really see the point for a banked track and would've thought it wore too quickly and was slow. But someone's probably thought of all those things already.

I read somewhere that HH would be using Tarmac Mastertrack.

I'm just looking forward to riding at HH without it sounding like a gravel track.

  • This is on right? looking forward to getting on it again

  • Next Saturday I need to be there.

  • Today was actually excellent. God I've missed circles and track bikes and things. Good to be back :)

  • also, if any of you are thinking of heading over there for things tomorrow, be sure to hang around for

they've been doing a lot of filming throughout the season, if you saw them then you're probably in it...

  • How was the new surface Tommo?
(did you fly like the wind!?!?!?)

  • It was odd. Good odd. People were definitely making an effort today, wasn't a gentle easing in (but I thought there'd be more in attendance). With the old surface there was always a separation in my head between track (bumpy weird) and road (smooth tarmac). This no longer exists for everything is smooth tarmac. It's definitely rather whooshy. The wind is as in-your-face as ever, but I suppose they can't fix everything.

  • i was dying to get on it!...oh well, tomorrow

  • yeah the wind was pretty strong and in my face for 3/4 of the way round.

as 6pt said new surface was good but different. nice and smooth

  • Never ridden 'ashphalt' track before, only boards and venerable concrete.
    Soooooon

  • Wonder if the new fencing has made a difference with the wind? It's a lot more open than the old stuff...

  • Great new surface, there are a few bumps on the upper bound of the track, and some stones from the mountain bike area went onto the track...scary!!! =S

  • ^Nothing dual spoks couldnt handle though eh? ;-)

  • Haha, probably yeah, but hit a pretty big stone and nearly took me by suprise and face on the track!

  • Really enjoyed the novice session, track surface feels very nice. Apologies if I got a bit competitive towards the end, not been on the track for ages so couldn't really resist trying to race, I was the big guy on the white Moda Forte.

  • I was the guy on the red Planet X track bike, it was its first outing - it's a great bike.

I enjoyed seeing double arrospok's on the track, heavy duty!!
