The comment a few up about Lemond being clean. Is that on the basis that using drungs that are subsequently banned is clean? Colin Sturgess (team mate at ADR the year he won) has frequently implied that he was one of the earliest users of EPO.

Yes, but for a start he's not using his real name so clearly doesn't want to be on the record about any of this. Secondly, the only product he's mentioned in connection with Lemond wasn't on the banned list until 1992. Thirdly, he's only confessed to using 'grey-area' substances himself, which I took to mean things that you might consider immoral but not outside the laws of the sport.

Survector, by the way, is a short-acting upper. It's a prescription medication for depression and is very rarely used medically nowadays. As I said, it was placed on the UCI banned list in 1992.

He posts under the name of another prescription medication, used for treating patients with severely low phosphate levels, such as those undergoing kidney dialysis. This is seemingly not a banned substance, and has been openly used by at least one Italian football club.
