  • well looks like it!

  • The best bit is that those girls didn't realise that that money was mostly $1 bills.

  • ^I was gonna say 'dolla' dolla' bills y'all (literally)'.

Nice to see the odd 50 and 20 thrown in for good measure!

  • hmmm...that's reminds me this really romantic story about two girls who went to the bank to exchange some hard earn money, one of them (really excited) handled 100 Russian rubles to the guy at the counter and once she received her exchanged money back her friend burst into laughter and shouted: fuck i can't believe you just sucked this guy dick for £2.12!

  • Stop stealing content from my Facebook Lola!

  • i'm sorry, i'm sorry...but i didn't use your name innit?

  • Great Norths Last night. Nice to meet you Lola.

    Free beer FTW!

  • Oh and Pigfarmer, for someone who dishes out the hate on the best groupsets ever you don't seem to have ever used it by the way you talked about it. Maybe if you tried it you'd see why winners use it...

  • Nice to meet you too! oh we are all so nice to each other today...that's strange...obviously Pigfarmer is worse for wear this morning lol

When you say winners, do you mean people with medals and trophies, or Charlie Sheen wannabes?

  • Both.

I was sure this was going to be about two girls and one cup!

    @Ben.

If you'd been involved in the conversations at the beginning I was having with people I candidly admit that my experience is limited to approx 100m of riding Sram Red.

However what you should realise is that I've been riding bikes all my life and specifically racing bikes since I was 14. That's 15 years of pretty much daily riding experience. I also am in more than just the LFGSS community but am a member of two race clubs in London and Dorset. I also know a number of people who work in the industry; not the likes of Tokyo Fixed Gear but proper, dedicated race bikes shops. I also know Albi ;).

I'm sorry but people who got involved in cycling through the fixed scene over the last few years and suddenly have a race bike (often their first) who then feel they have the knowledge base, skills base and experience base with which to inform me that I don't know what I'm talking about is slightly abrasive.

SRAM has a comfortable hood, yes. But from what I gather and understand the shifting system is certainly down in usability from both Campy and Shammy. Furthermore I have heard numerous people complaining that the braking quality is poor and (also per Albi last night) there is also no centering screw on the calipers (at least Rival, not sure about Red).

The 2 jobs a groupset serve is braking and gear changing. Seems Sram have someway to go.

  • What's up with this 2 girls in bed covered with $ bills? Don't spot any Benjamins.

Minky, you are very baity today. Good work.

  • I was sure this was going to be about two girls and one cup!

It's the hairline that confuses people. In fact I was mistaken for 38 at 44Con last week, which was rubbish.

I was ranting a little last night (seemed to be doing a lot of that) to some people about the cost of race bikes; not just the build costs but the costs of running them.

E.g. I popped to Condor last week for a few bits and bobs. Swiss Stop brake pads, Campagnolo Record cable set (inners and outers) and 2 Continental inner tubes (80mm) came to a still staggering £76/78.

Only when I got home did I realise I'd paid £9/inner tube. Absolutely fucking sickening.

Considering the annual income of the industry mixed with the hideous mark-up levels it makes you think who the fuck is making all the money, it's certainly not the bike shops (except Condor) ;).

  • BTW is there a dark rant thread? Think I might need to go>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Oh yeah, my first race was the ESCA North West time trial championship U13 division in......1989. I came 3rd*.

    Go me, motherfuckers!

*there were more than 3 riders.

edit. We don't seem to be willy waving about length of time biking anymore

  • ^Old fuck.

Did you get a medal or anything? What was the distance?
