If you eat in the restaurant at Brazas, you're a mug, it always costs a forune IME... But you can't beat their takeway 1/2 piri-piri chicken and rice (or chips) deal, it's still £5.75, no? Best chicken I've had in London...
Still need to go to Negril, can't believe I've been down here so long and not ventured that short distance up the hill...

Negril's rice and peas are excellent. Not the plain rice and kidney beans which most jerk places have. Go with a friend and have a platter with their home made lemonade.
Happily, I'll be there tomorrow evening for my last jerk chicken as a single man.

Hasn't Braza's changed hands again recently? I'd heard the food was going down hill. Negril chicken! And there's a new dim sum place opening in Granville Arcade.
Tom Conti's in Brockwell Park filming today if you're interested?

#justcuzjayraynersaysitsamazingdoesntmeanitisNot going on JR's opinion mate. Been eating there a lot and think it's top notch. They seem to use alot more chilli than the average Thai.

Mrs TS and I stumbled past the day before they were opening up and tried to get some lunch, they turned us away of course... We went back the following week, desperate for a decent local Thai place and there was a queue 'round the fuckin' block... We went to the Columbian place* in the market instead...
- Our new favourite... Food there is shit BTW...

"As a previous resident of 12 years"
Would be more accurate. You fucking Islingtonite.
Apologies, but I'm going to have a bit of a rant.
Brazas will no longer get my patronage.
I live across the road. I see the owners every time I go past and smile. We are neighbors.
Went last night for their 2-4-1 Tues. The sign out side just says 'on mains'. The menu doesn't say anything. When we ordered the waiter didn't say anything.
We had a quarter of peri peri chicken and a half a chicken.... got the bill and it was near £30. Asked about it and we were told that the 2-4-1 was only on the quarter of chicken (£7.95) and the ribs (£9.50) or some crap. I told him that he should have mentioned that when we ordered, and that it really shouldn't matter cause the half a chicken was the same price as the ribs anyways.... so doing his best to make me the local customer happy, he charged us for 2 quarters, saving us £1.55 instead of knocking £7.95 off the bill.
Add to this that the last time I went in, they were like "we're closed". Then they asked what we wanted and we said a couple of veggie burgers. The made us some veggie burgers, but they were the driest hardest discs of inedible crap I've ever come across.
Seems to me they're money centered bastards these days. I'd rather someone say "we're closed" and that I spent my money on something decent rather than get sold shit. PLUS when we did go last night, when I asked what was good he naturally said "the tuna and the lamb chops". Which are obviously the most expensive items on the menu.
I think they've lost the plot and I for one will not go back and I will smile at them no more.
