whats a good gift for someone who's new to cycling?
Track pump. It sits there next to your bike reminding you every time you go out that correct tyre pressure is a free upgrade to the ride and handling of any bike.

Was wondering what to do with a microwave that has a rusty inside. Was thinking of trying to explode it sort of viking burial or should I just take it to small items recycling

The he will def thank your for a track pump- I've inflated car tyres with a track pump (high volume low pressure tyre) and bike tyres with a car pump (low volume high pressure tyre) and neither was fun.
Best to match the pump to the task- it took forever to get 36 psi in teh car tyre with my Renkompressor, and I simply couldn't get a high pressrue in the bike tyre with the car pump.

Why not both? Explode it then take it to small items recycling, or do interesting "experiments" such as putting CDs and the like in there:

Charge Plug.
Sparkle will definitely make it NJS certified.
I'd pass on powdercoating the stem if you think about ever adjusting it. Plug has ahead stem, right? Yeah, you can as well.

Or place it inside a caravan on Hackney Marshes and then [strike]explode it[/strike] drop a modified Renault Clio on top of it?

I recently was given a nice Rossin Record road frame from a friend in pretty good cosmetic condition. It has a small hairline crack on the bottom of one of the chainstays. Is it worth me looking at getting it repaired? (i am a poor) I don't have any sentimental attachment to it but if anyone has any knowledge on how much this kind of repair would cost versus how much i could find a similar frame for it would be much appreciated. It's too pretty to be gathering dust.
Cheers -

Crack in the paint or in the metal? If there is actually a crack in the chain stay, you'd be looking at a pretty expensive (>£200) repair if you wanted the frame to be worth more after repair than before, and there are plenty of decent road frames on the market for less than that.

Anybody know if any of those Coinstar machines are still in existence?
Their web site says that there are machines at New Cross Gate sainsburys and Asda on OKR but they weren't there when I visited.
I've got a very large number of coins that I'd like to change.
The HSBC in Oxford St near Oxford Circus has a coin counter that will deposit all of your change in about 2 minutes into your HSBC account. for free.and spit out any foreign/fake coins. its bloody amazing. I think those coinstar machines are a ripoff..
