not liking the build stopped me from fine tuning it, and it's not too big, not selling either =))

• #50253
How did you fix that scorch?
-
• #50254
two guys with a two-foot long crow-bar and me fainting two meters away from them =))
-
• #50255
looks good noca, what forks are they btw?
-
• #50256
IMO the Merckx would look great with a white, slimmer profile saddle. Perhaps a flight?

With the rain today and the incoming autumn/winter weather, I thought I should probably get a winter hack on the road so got to putting a BB in my mystery 531 frame and found that the non drive side is totally stripped (can basically push the cup all the way in and easily pull it out).
I was thinking of some PTFE tape and a sealed BB, as the non drive side can cope with not being too tight.
Any thoughts, anyone? I'm not sure it's worth getting it retapped or owt.
(It's this one, some sort of 531 Tourer/CX with Columbus dropouts. No idea what it is, even got to emailing holdsworth to ask if it was one of them, they suggested Raleigh. It's not.)

get a threadless BB
-
• #50259
^ that. Could bodge for a try if it's gonna be a winter hack, but in the long run it would be worth getting it sorted properly - It's a really nice frame - Sure it's not a dawes (galaxy, super galaxy or horizon?) It's got a full complement of braze-ons would suggest proper tourer, and some dawes had internal cable routing

could recut the threads into a larger size (italian?)

that's a "no brand" carbon one. Once i saw a LOOK just like this one. Maybe it's a copy... It's very light.
Not a track fork but a road one. -

took a while before i could finally buy me some merckx... Frameset came off of this guy, who unfortunately does not pack well. Could not decide on the parts choice, then moving to moscow delayed the whole thing. Now back to kiev for a few days, threw everything together with an easy choice of c-record. Not too happy with the build unfortunately... Will see over the winter, maybe will rebuild form scratch.

It indeed is a Moots titanium.. I see your going back to Flite's Brumfun? [#dofeedthetroll]
Beautiful Merckx. Perhaps a bit too big for you.
You guys make me wanting a Lo Pro, too (sooner or later).
