  • Bought a Ricoh GRD2 (from wools, thank you sir) and have been playing with it today. I quite like the results - with shooting in RAW and fiddling of settings I've got some nice results. The 1.1 aspect ratio is enjoyable too (border added in pshop)

    One slightly annoying thing is that the distance at which the camera focuses to infinity seems to be about half a metre - so if I'm shooting a subject further away than that, even at f2.4, the DoF is not noticeably shallow. Since this is my first digital camera I have no idea why this is... perhaps this is down to the small sensor (?). Considering that the whole camera is smaller and lighter than the lenses for my film SLRs, I can't complain too much, and a wide-angle lens ensures that the subject is usually close to the camera anyway.
