I made this from some plywood, wall paint and bits of left over table top.

Nice. Very neat.
Just thought I'd say I used one of those german pedal holder thingys, and its great....Assuming it doesn't fall out.
Got to be one of the best options out there as well as being the cheapest.

OK, so Ikea have stopped making the Stoleman stands. Anyone have any ideas where I can get my hands on them?Or if Ikea simply started calling them another name?
I was reading on another thread on the same topic that Aldi was selling the column racks at some time. Anyone have a local Aldi they can check out so we can find out if they are currently selling them?
The SJSC would be perfect, but they want to charge me 35 pounds for shipping!
Also, anyone have any experience with the gravity/wall leaning ones? They don't seem to be tall enough for my requirements (I want to make use of the 3metre ceiling).

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=50398It is a shame because the free shipping actually makes these quite cheap in comparison to the telescopic column racks.

I've just got a modern carbon road bike - which is amazing, but unfortuneatly it doesn't fit in my stand, because the frame tubes are too big.
[/IMG]I have one of these in the hall for my beater.
...they are amazing, but as my road bike used to live on the nice looking stand in my bedroom, I'd rather keep it that way.
Does anyone have any suggestions for slopping oversize carbon tubes? Bigger hooks sounds obvious, but they'll have to be pretty big and it would be nice if they weren't too ugly.
Cheers.

has anyone used one of the pulley systems you can get from lidl for a fiver?
how much of a pain is it to hoist a bike up and down? is this a practical solution for daily use of a bike or will i lose my mind?

I was bought something similar a year or so ago, but never used it. Looks far too complex and flimsy...
Will be building a Stolmen rack soon.

I have a ikea stolmen rack and it works like a charm without drilling and screwing

A tad expensive? I like the design though...

has anyone tried using the stolmen rack with only one centered hook to support the bike by the head tube or the front wheel?
Just built a stolmen rack without any cutting/drilling aluminium tubing. Just bought the double hook bracket instead of the single, and hung a hook from each, works a treat. Total cost was £15 for the post, £4 for 2 hooks and £6 for the brackets, so £25. Got 8 brackets in the pack though, but only needed to mount one bike, so obviously can scale appropriately. (I was only mounting one bike, but could have mounted 2 for £4 more, the cost of two hooks) I bent the hooks outward slightly to give a little more clearance from the bracket when putting the bike in and out, but it fit in without this. Really really happy with it! Lined the hooks with leftover scraps of bar tape. Can also confirm that stolmen pole definitely doesn't need any screwing, can take my considerable weight hanging off of it using just the expander bolt.

Another Ikea hack: http://www.ikeahackers.net/2012/02/broder-bike-rack-2.html
Could be useful where there's more width in the wall and above a work-surface like a space I have at home, I'm thinking of mounting the beam directly to the wall.

guys,
I moved into my flat today. and my block even spoils us with bike
storage now. But its already packed with bikes in there so I intend to create
a prime spot for myself on the wall
Does anyone know where I can pick one of these / or similar up in London?
In Germany they are called 'pedal parker'. to me they are the most
functional wall mount. They are just brilliant !Thanks
I'm thinking of placing an order for one of these - I only need one but happy to order more to save on postage costs.
(or Has anyone found a UK supplier)

That sucks! Might be the same company, but under a different name. That one you linked to on amazon is the only one listed at all...

Anyone got a pic of the pedal parker in usage?
Ok, I'm going to build one of the IKEA Stolmen racks this weekend. Does anybody have a drill I can borrow?
